It's On Us Spring 2017 Week of Action

Join us in our campaign to end sexual assault.

It’s On Us is a national campaign and cultural movement aimed at fundamentally shifting the way we think about sexual assault, developed by the Center for American Progress with the White House. Syracuse University has signed on to become a campus partner in this campaign. We invite you to take part in the It's on Us Spring 2017 Week of Action at SU. 

It’s On Us: Week of Action Fall 2016 Monday, October 10th “IT’S ON US” TABLING Find out more information about the national “It’s On Us” campaign and how to get involved. Volunteers will be handing out ribbons, informational pamphlets, bracelets and more. Stop by to take photos with a giant teal ribbon and to the pledge to stop interpersonal violence on college campuses. Lunch and Dinner Hours at Ernie Davis Dining Center OFFICE DECORATION CONTEST Offices are asked to develop the most creative design to raise awareness for dating violence and show support for survivors and people impacted by interpersonal violence. Sign-ups can be found at healthpromotion.syr.edu. All Day, Entire Campus/Community Tuesday, October 11th MUSIC WITH A BYSTANDER MESSAGE An interactive creative songwriting process to create dialogue around sexual assault awareness and bystander intervention. The workshop includes a brief education session followed by the process of producing a song of empowerment. Space is limited, for information on tickets please visit healthpromotion.syr.edu. 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., Setnor Auditorium TEAL TUESDAY All members of the Syracuse University community are invited to participate in “Teal Tuesday!” Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear teal to show their support for sexual assault survivors. All judging decisions will be made by a panel of student judges. an interactive 2 hour workshop that engages participants in dialogue about the complexities of sexual violence prevention. Participants will explore what it means to be an empowered bystander and will have the opportunity to apply the concept of empowered bystander to their everyday lives. This workshop was adapted from © 2013 University of New Hampshire Bringing in the Bystander. Co-hosted by Fraternity & Sorority Affairs and the Office of Health Promotion.

THE INVISIBLE WAR: Film Screening and Panel Discussion

The Invisible War documentary will be screened and followed by a panel discussion by some experts on the military and sexual violence. Co-hosted by Equal Opportunities, Inclusion & Resolution Services; National Women's Law Student Association; Office of Health Promotion; Syracuse University ROTC; Syracuse VA Medical Center; & Veterans Resource Center; Winnick Hillel Center for Jewish Life.
